Revision surgery

Surgical changing of parts or the entire prosthesis

Higher patients´age, higher life expectancy, higher physical demands with endoprostheses and implant loosening after long term use due to implant wear, require more often surgical revision and changing parts or the entire prosthesis.
This kind of surgery is more demanding and need a high expertise in using advanced endoprosthetic methods and implants. However, the experience achieved in tumor surgery and the use of endoprosthesis in children and young adults, provide also good clinical results after multiple operations. Postoperative care and rehabilitation may need longer time than known after primary surgery.
